How to play euchre
Euchre rules in two minutes
Euchre is a trick-taking card game for four players in two partnerships, using 24 cards: 9, 10, J, Q, K and A of each suit.
Trump and the bowers
One suit is named trump each hand. The jack of trump, the right bower, is the highest card. The other jack of the same color, the left bower, is second highest and counts as trump.
Bidding
Each player gets five cards and one card is turned up. Players can order the dealer to pick it up and make that suit trump, or pass. If all pass, players may name another suit. With stick the dealer, the dealer must choose.
Scoring
- The team that made trump scores 1 point for taking 3 or 4 tricks, and 2 points for all 5.
- A player who goes alone and takes all 5 tricks scores 4 points.
- If the makers take fewer than 3 tricks, they are euchred and the other team scores 2.
Euchre Player’s Network plays to 5, 7, 10 or 15 points.

Yes. It’s free to play with no ads. Chip packs and card designs are optional and never affect ranked games.

Can I play euchre online with my friends?
Yes. Open a friendly table, share its four-letter code or invite friends, and any empty seats fill with bots.
Do bots affect my rating?
No. Ranked tables need four people and never use bots. Bot and friendly games never change your rating.
